Report: Celtics have shown interest in trading for Rockets' center Clint Capela

Capella would immediately move into the starting line-up and man the middle for the Celtics if a trade can be consummated |
Boston has 3 1's (projected 17,26 and 30) in June. Would need to send out $10M of salary in a Clint Capela deal. https://t.co/RioxJI5RDH— Bobby Marks (@BobbyMarks42) February 3, 2020
Sources: The Atlanta Hawks remain a possible landing spot for Capela too. Rockets are pursuing first-round picks to flip into a deal for a wing player and another center. Robert Covington and Andre Iguodala are among several Houston targets. https://t.co/uWXqPqEx6T— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) February 3, 2020
Have heard Houston desperately wants to deal Capela, which surprises me and makes you wonder about their motivation. Can’t imagine Boston wants to give up Smart, but maybe there’s a path to satisfy Houston’s need for depth (or assets to flip for depth) without including him.

The 25 year old Capela is a double double machine who is averaging 14 and 14 this season. He's signed to a 5 year, $90 million dollar contract. He will have 3 more years on his contract after this season. One wonders why the Rockets have been so anxious to trade him dating back to this past summer. My guess is in the modern NBA where bigs that can shoot from the outside are desired more than ever, they would prefer to spend $90 million elsewhere.
Fire up the trade machine and come up with some ideas!
A little bit of what Capela can bring to the table:
