Smart traveling with team to MIL, but won't play despite rehab progress
If Marcus Smart was a character in a Monty Python movie, he'd likely be the one missing an arm while proclaiming, "'Tis but a scratch!"
Of course, that attitude is the only real reason anyone is giving him a shot at playing for the Boston Celtics in their second-round matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks, and to date, his rehabilitation seems to be progressing even faster than the anticipated earliest return date.
As you can see in the video above, Smart isn't just jogging anymore -- something many believed he'd just start to be able to do a week from now. Don't get too excited, though, as GM Danny Ainge stressed Marcus won't be suiting up for either of the two home games in Milwaukee to start the series despite traveling with the team.
Marcus Smart will make the trip to Milwaukee, per Brad Stevens. He will not play in either game.— Chris Grenham (@chrisgrenham) April 27, 2019
The tantalizing dream of having Smart back is certainly no longer of the pipe variety, but as long as the Celtics can keep themselves from being torn apart so fast they get canned before he's healthy enough to play, we might just get to see Smarticus terrorizing the Bucks in the postseason another year running (pun intended).
