Celtics unveil jersey patch honoring the late, great John Havlicek

The Boston Celtics have unveiled the jersey patch honoring the late John Havlicek. The team will wear the patch for the remainder of the 2019 NBA playoffs.


John died on Thursday, April 25th, 2019 at the age of 79. The 13-time All-Star, 8-time Champion and 5-time All-Defense First-Team member was not about lights and fanfare. He was quiet, modest and unassuming. He just did his job - did it extremely well - and then went home to his family. Johnny, we hardly knew ya! Farewell, John.
