Celtics jump to season-high No. 21 in ESPN power rankings

The Celtics retired No. 21 for Bill Sharman.
Marc Stein's weekly NBA power rankings on ESPN.com have just been released, and the Celtics are at their highest position of the season.  After falling to No. 28 last week (Boston's lowest ranking of the year), the C's rose seven spots all the way to No. 21, equaling their high-water mark for 2014-15.

Back-to-back wins in Portland and Denver, followed by a solid showing in Golden State clearly made an impression on Stein.

The Celtics are ranked immediately behind their opponent this evening, the No. 20 Utah Jazz (16-28).

At 15-27 Boston is somehow only 2.5 games back of the East's final playoff spot.
