Video: Austin Rivers goes for a career high 28 points

When Danny Ainge traded Austin Rivers to Doc Rivers and the Clippers for a 2nd round pick, basically all of the NBA, the media, and fans gave Ainge props for fleecing Doc. Many people mocked Doc for being a clueless GM and practicing nepotism. Doesn't seem like the Clippers are regretting giving up a pretty much useless future late 2nd rounder for the younger Rivers. Austin has improved in L.A. and he's still a former lottery pick, who would only be a senior in college if he hadn't left early.

Seems like Austin is the exact type of player you take a risk on for only a late 2nd rounder. Does anyone think the Celtics should have taken a flier on Austin and seen how he did on a new team and with Brad Stevens in Boston? The Celtics could have given him a look for the 2nd half of this season with no obligations moving forward. Or did Danny make the right call and is Austin not an NBA caliber player? His performance last night sure looked NBA caliber worthy.
