Dallas Mavericks trade Antony Davis to Washington Wizards
Dallas is receiving a 2026 Thunder first-round pick and a 2030 protected Warriors first-round pick in this deal from the Wizards along with second rounders in 2026 (Phoenix), 2027 (Chicago) and 2029 (Houston), sources tell ESPN. https://t.co/t5Qqtkl0Is

Dallas really had no choice here. Anthony Davis kept on doing what he does which is get hurt. Mavs were looking at potentially just salary dumping him. The picks they receive back in this trade are rather garbage, but better than nothing. Davis' latest injury more or less killed the team's chances of getting anything decent back in return.I don’t mind the trade for the Wizards. Two fake firsts, seconds, and salary filler to get Anthony Davis and Trae Young is not too shabby. Trae + AD + a bunch of promising young players in Washington…it could be worse!

At this time last year, the Doncic for Davis deal looked like the most clueless trade in NBA history. Somehow in one year's time it looks even worse. A shame the Mavericks were gifted Cooper Flagg. They really did not deserve that "luck" for surrendering to Rob Pelinka and the Lakers.
So the Mavericks turned Luka Doncic into

Max Christie
2029 Lakers first-round pick
2026 Thunder pick (30th)
2030 Warriors first (if 21-30)
3 seconds
Generational fumble
Very low risk trade for the Wizards and Davis, who will need to purchase some warmer street clothes for his new Washington DC bench home, will most likely not play many games for the Wizards this season and the team should grab another high lottery pick to pair with Alex Sarr.
Washington also recently acquired Trae Young for very little, so they may be a surprise team as soon as next season. Look for the Mavs to trade Kyrie Irving as their next big move and again due to the gifting of Flagg they should be fine moving forward, especially as they should get another good player in this year's draft.
If it wasn't for them beating the longest of odds to hit #1 last spring, the Doncic trade would truly haunt that franchise for many more years.
Now that it's been proven that the Lakers were GIFTED Luka Doncic there really is only one way to fix this. The Los Angeles Lakers greatest & long time rival the Boston Celtics get to have Cooper Flagg on their team.
