The Boston Celtics fell to the red hot Atlanta Hawks 105 to 91 tonight at the TD Garden. Arguably the hottest team in the NBA came into Boston and showed with their unselfish play why they’re the top dogs of the eastern conference, notching their 10th straight win in the process. The Hawks rested two of their team leaders, with long ranger bomber Kyle Korver and rim protector Al Horford both in street clothes for tonight’s contest.

Despite not having two starters, the Hawks dominated throughout. Their largest lead of the night was 14 points, but the Celtics kept putting up the fight and went on streaky runs to get that lead down. The Hawks big three of Paul Millsap, Jeff Teague and DeMarre Carroll were easily the best players on the floor tonight and it wasn’t even close. Teague finished with 22 points and 6 assists, but Carroll was everywhere all at once and easily was the Hawks first star dropping 22 points as well.

A skeleton crew took the court for the Celtics as we only dressed 12 guys. Although we did only play 11 with CelticsLife captain Gerald Wallace receiving a DNP for coach’s decision. The leading scorer for Boston was Avery Bradley, but it was ugly. Bradley notched 17 points, but on 6 of 13 from the floor. The only bright spot I saw tonight was Kelly Olynk who chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds off the bench.

The Celtics look to get back on the horse and take on the Bulls Friday night at home.
