Celtics check in at practice Monday from L.A.

Today's Video: Clash of the Titans Mix

After the jump we have another mix for you on the Eastern Conference Finals ironically called "Magic" by B.O.B.

I Hate

I hate their colors.  It's not a coincidence I don't own any clothing purple or yellow (not the most masculine of colors to begin with).  I hate Jerry Buss and his hideous toupee.   I hate Jerry West; how does the NBA logo go to a guy with 1 title as a player?  That's like someone comparing Bean to Michael.  Shouldn't this have gone to Bob Cousy or John Havlicek?

I hate Kareem and his dumb, bald head.  I hate Michael Cooper and his ugly looking shot.  I hate AC Green and his jerry curl.  I hate James Worthy and his goggles.  I hate Mike Smrek; seeing his last name made me sick.  I hate Mychael Thompson; being gift wrapped to the Flakers for the corpse of Peter Gudmundsson and now he does their radio.  I hate Cheesy Johnson; his ostentatious arrogance, showing off for the cameras.

The Kobe/Jordan debate is ridiculous

We live in a "what have you done for me lately" society. People have short memories and often think whoever is hot at that moment is the greatest ever at whatever they do. No segment of the population is guiltier of this than sports fans. We proclaim everything as the “greatest game" or " greatest player". We are so quick to judge everything the day after it happens without putting it in any kind of context. This is exactly what is happening right now with Kobe Bryant.

Look, as much as I hate the guy, Kobe is one of the 10-15 best players of all time. However, to compare him to Jordan is silly. What's even more ridiculous is making all of these comparisons before the Finals. If Kobe loses that will make him 4-3 in championship series’, and 1-2 without Shaq. That will also mean he has lost twice to his most bitter rival and three times as a favorite.

For anyone who forgets, Jordan was 6 for 6 in Finals appearances. Why are we so eager to anoint everyone the next Jordan? More than likely there will never be another player like him because the game has changed so much.

Celtics/Magic Series B.O.B. Mix

NBA Ramblings- June 1st

These Finals would be great for the Celtics to make up for 1985 or 1987.  In '85, Boston had homecourt advantage, but lost in 6 in the first year of the 2-3-2 format.  Many argue had the format remained in the traditional 2-2-1-1-1 setup (which personally I feel it should; it's inexplicable that you play 82 games for the best record in basketball to have a chance to play pivotal Game 5 on the road) that the Celts would've won.  In '87 the Flakers prevailed in 6, a big reason being the Celtics' bench was pretty much the worst of the Bird era.  Michael Cooper and Mychael Thompson were a huge advantage.  This year the Celtics have the better bench and don't have homecourt.  Hopefully they can win that Larry O'Brien trophy, so I won't be quite as bitter regarding those 2 seasons.......Speaking of Larry O'Brien, why the hell is the trophy named after him?  All he did as commissioner was set up pro basketball to be a total failure.  Cocaine abuse was at an all-time high and Finals games were on tape delay.  When David Stern took over it's like Bill Simmons said, going from Single A to the Majors.  I understand O'Brien passed away in 1990 but the trophy was named after him in 1984.  If it's going to be named after Larry O'Brien, why not just name it after Caldwell Jones.
