Shaquille O’Neal has been fined $35,000 for public comments about the officiating, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations.
Well we predicted this on Saturday after Shaq let loose on Bob Delaney. The biggest question for me was would it be a $25,000 or a $50,000 dollar fine. Ended up in the middle. Can't really suspend Shaq a game, since he takes every other game off anyway. I'm glad Shaq spoke up though. Can't stand refs that think the game is about them.

I think its stupid for players to get fined to speaking their mind about the refs.
Words must really hurt them if they make Shaq and other players pay $35k or whatever it may be!
Fuck Stu Jackson, Stern, and everybody else ahead of the league!! sheesh! Really ridiculous..

  2. Pretty sad that Shaq got fined for telling the truth. The fact that David Stern can watch the horrible officiating in this league and then defend them just proves that the guy needs to go!

These ref's are more protected than the Royal family (I'm english, hence the reference!) You can't disagree with them or you'll get a technical and now the Big Shamrock has been fined! I reckon officials will start taking bribes and letting teams get away with deliberate fouls. I mean, its not as if anyone can argue with them?

Put it this way, If this country was run like the NBA was run, then... oh wait, bad analogy. As far as I'm concerned, the NBA is ruining basketball is hard as it can, this is just a side effect. Until it sees a new ownership with an entirely different approach, it will continue to be a thoroughly flawed product.

With all that said, Shaq playing with 5 fouls early in the 4th was a bad call (even though I think baby had 4 at the time) by Doc, and him throwing Howard to the ground was a bad move by Shaq.

I have never seen LeBron gotten a technical foul this season yet nor the Miami Big 3. He has a big ego and the refs don't even toss him a T for that. Shit even Kobe got ejected from the game last week ago. See how bias NBA is now...
