Afternoon Delight: Luka Doncic questions how he can foul out if he doesn't play defense

After the Boston Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks 106 to 99 last night in Game 3 of the NBA Finals to take a commanding 3-0 lead, eyes and ears turned to what Luka Doncic would say following the game. The Slovenian star had just fouled out for first time ever in a playoff game.

Doncic did spend way too much time blaming the refs in his postgame press conference, as opposed to shouldering the blame for the Mavs NBA Finals deficit or giving the Celtics praise for that matter. But it was in the early hours of Thursday morning where Doncic kept it 100% real.

Award winning investigative journalist Rondo Burgundy of Celtics Life, though he did not even have a press credential for the NBA Finals, was able to speak to Doncic privately. The guard's case on how it was preposterous to have tallied 6 fouls according to Burgundy came down to this.

Doncic claims it's impossible to accidentally foul someone six times over the course of a game. When Burgundy cautioned Luka that could come across as an admission that he plays zero defense and he was worried that the language barrier could cause NBA fans to take his words out of context, Doncic adamantly replied:

"I play zero defense! Nič. Zilch. Nada. I'm an offensive star. The rest of my teammates are there for defense. Well the rest of them, with the exception of Kyrie [Irving]. Zero defense should equal zero fouls. To quote the great Chris Tucker, "'Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?'"

Well there you have it, another Rondo Burgundy exclusive. Doncic is a fan of Rush Hour and he also admits he doesn't play defense.
