Celtics and Al Horford agree to a 2 year contract extension
This is a great deal if you're a Celtics fan. $10 million per year for Horford is less than he would have received as a free agent. This will give the Celtics more wiggle room to retain upcoming free agents Jaylen Brown and Grant Williams as well as hopefully add another piece if necessary.Boston Celtics center Al Horford has agreed on a two-year, $20 million contract extension that ties him to the franchise through his 39th birthday, his agent Jason Glushon of @GlushonSM tells ESPN. pic.twitter.com/10v0FHqIIU

Horford is shooting a whopping 48.8% on 3-pointers this season. The Celtics never should have let Horford walk in free agency in 2019, but this story appears to be having a happy ending with Al positioned to retire a Celtic. Hopefully after a 3rd straight championship.
