Nets pass on hiring Ime Udoka, name Jacque Vaughn head coach
The Brooklyn Nets owner was reportedly getting push back from many in the organization as well as the league over their plans to hire suspended Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka. Instead they have decided to stick with Jacque Vaughn and have given him a 2 year contract. The team is so far 2-2 under Vaughn.The Nets announced Jacque Vaughn will be their head coach.

The Boston Celtics are reportedly paying the suspended Udoka half of his salary. The team made no attempt to prevent the Nets from hiring Udoka. One has to wonder if not for the recent Kyrie Irving controversy, would the Nets still have changed course?Jacque Vaughn’s promotion to Brooklyn Nets coach comes with a deal through the 2023-2024 season, sources tell ESPN.
