Kevin Durant and 3 other Brooklyn Nets players have tested positive for the coronavirus
Organization says it's notifying anyone who has had known contact with the players, including recent opponents. All Nets players and traveling party have been told to remain isolated. https://t.co/YG3WTQU1cS— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) March 17, 2020
That makes seven NBA players that have tested positive for the coronavirus. I emphasize the word tested, because there are likely considerably more, but because the United States inexplicably has a shortage of tests and because you can have the virus and it be asymptomatic, we won't know.
These players should be fine as they are young and healthy people. The bigger issue is who have they spread the virus to? Not word on who the four players are as of yet.
Nice to see the Nets players didn't get preferential treatment and paid out of their own pockets, but on the flip side it's scary to see how few tests the U.S. has available.https://t.co/LjoxEc3Qkx https://t.co/Hrjz1E9Xes— CelticsLife.com (@celticslife) March 17, 2020
Interesting to note the Nets didn't play the Jazz or Pistons (the two teams with prior confirmed coronavirus positives) anytime recently, but they did face the Celtics two weeks ago.
Update:
Kevin Durant tested positive for coronavirus, Durant tells @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium. Durant says he is feeling fine: "Everyone be careful, take care of yourself and quarantine. We're going to get through this."— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) March 17, 2020
