Aron Baynes to remain in Boston, exercises player option

Earlier today we learned the Kyrie Irving was not going to opt in to the final year of his contract. Now some good news on the Celtics front:
Boston Celtics center Aron Baynes has exercised his $5.9M player option for the 2019-20 season, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

Somewhat surprised with this news as Baynes had expressed some dissatisfaction with the Celtics chemistry this past season and thought he might test the market. Hinge likely convinced him that team chemistry would improve this coming season and I suppose $5.9 million in the hand is always a safe play over what might be in the bush.
Baynes last month said he wanted to talk to Ainge and Stevens about his role before deciding whether to opt in. "I want to be in the right situation. In the NBA everyone always wants to be able to contribute and help the team that they’re on and I’m no different."
