Good news for Yabu fans - Celtics pick up options on Jay-Team and Guerschon Yabusele

I love Guerschon Yabusele - I just wish he would get more floor time and play better. As expected, Danny Ainge picked up the team options on both Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum for next season. Many of us expected Guersch's option for next season to be declined, but the Celtics picked up his option also.


Yabu will earn $3.1 million next season, while Jayson and Jaylen are set to make $7.8 million and $6.5 million, respectively. With Boston already into luxury-tax land, it is interesting that they went with Guersch's option. They must feel the same way I do about the pluses of his presence on the team, while still seeing his value as a player, or trade chip, going forward.
