Jayson Tatum ranked #24 in ESPN's Top-100 - Does that make him a potential All-Star?
SI ranked Jayson Tatum 39th in their Top-100 NBA players, but ESPN chose to raise him to #24 in their list. So the question is, with 24 players chosen as All-Stars, does that project Jayson as a probable All-Star?
First of all, any such rankings are quite arbitrary. Numbers such as points and rebounds are important in making these decisions, but generally the list is subjective. With that said, my feeling is, that with a very solid early season, Tatum could very well land in the All-Star game this year, his second in the NBA. Looking at the All-Star rosters for last season, he has a pretty good shot at it.
So by ranking Jayson Tatum the 24th-best player in the league, ESPN is basically saying he should be an All-Star this year.
