Recap: Celtics let one get away against Orlando, Magic top Celtics 119-114

With sole possession of third place in the East on the line, the Celtics weren't able to hold onto this one after jumping out to a 14 point lead in the first half. The Celtics led by 7 at the half, but fell to the Magic 119-114.

Marcus Smart tried to keep the Celtics in it, connecting on a four point play in the final seconds to make it a one possession game with 14 seconds to go. Ultimately it was too little too late. The Magic shot a blistering 54% from the field and out rebounded the Celtics 50-41.

So many threes. The Celtics heaved a season high 46 threes. After starting 8 for 13, they went 8 for their last 33 attempts. Failed threes in the third quarter let the Magic get back into it and tie the game at 81 after three quarters. Overall the Celtics were 16-46 from long range.

Isaiah Thomas paced the Celtics with 23 points, 4 assists, 2 steals. Marcus Smart added 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals and was 5-9 from deep. Avery Bradley took a team high 21 shots, going 3-12 from three... but ended up with 22 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals. Jae Crowder was ineffective in this one, an uncharacteristic -15 with 5 points (1-6 3PTA).

Evan Turner got tossed in the final minute for arguing a call on an attempted steal.

Isaiah Thomas fouled out for the first time in his career, clearly not getting the All-Star treatment just yet.
