Around the NBA 10/30: Things Celtics fans should know from last night

With the Celtics sitting idle last night, there were six NBA teams in action. Here are 5 things you should know:

1. The Mavericks moved to 1-1 after losing to the Clippers 104-88. The Celtics will receive the Mavericks 2016 first-round draft pick as long as it falls outside picks 1 through 7.

2. The Knicks followed up Wednesday's impressive win over the Bucks with a 112-101 loss in their home opener against the Hawks. With New York moving to 1-1, the Celtics and Raptors will be playing for first place of the Atlantic Division in Boston tonight.

3. Jeff Green bounced back from Wednesday's disappearing act with a much stronger performance in Memphis' win last night over the Pacers. Over 29 minutes, he went 5-6 from the field, including 2-2 from three, to finish with 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. He was also called for 5 fouls, and now has a total of 10 through two games.

4. Tony Allen played a part in the Grizzlies win as well. On 4-11 shooting, Allen tallied 9 points and 7 rebounds in 22 minutes.

5. Paul Pierce struggled in the Clippers victory over the Mavericks last night. In 20 minutes, he scored 6 points on 1-6 shooting, including 0-2 from three, with 4 rebounds and 2 assists.
