Celtics waive Zoran Dragić, reportedly add two to training camp roster

With training camp approaching, the Celtics are making some moves to finalize their preseason roster. On Monday Boston, as expected, waived shooting guard Zoran Dragić, two weeks after he was acquired from Miami. Dragić averaged 1.8 points in 16 games last season for the Suns and Heat, who traded him for the sake of creating salary cap space.

Dragić's release leaves 16 players currently on the Celtics' roster and two vacancies for training camp. Those two spots will reportedly be filled by Coty Clarke and Malcolm Miller, although their signings have not been made official.

Clarke's signing was reported by Sportando. The 6'7" forward went undrafted out of Arkansas in 2014 and spent last season playing in Israel's second division, where he averaged 9.4 points and 5.6 rebounds.

Miller, also a 6'7" forward, is an undrafted rookie out of Holy Cross. He led the Crusaders with a team-high 14.5 points, 4.9 boards, 1.6 blocks and 1.3 steals in 2014-15 and was on Boston's Summer League roster. He averaged 5.6 points for the Celtics in Las Vegas.
