Celtics unable to complete trade with Hornets for #9, miss out on Winslow
.Justise Winslow's availability got Celts back in the fray for 9. Can almost feel the disappointment coming from their HQ room down the hall.— Steve Bulpett (@SteveBHoop) June 26, 2015
Celtics tried hard to trade up for #9, but the Hornets ended up keeping the pick and drafting their guy Kaminsky. Winslow falls into the ecstatic sleazy hands of the Heat and Miami Heat at #10. This was the negative of our playoff push. Don't make the playoffs and stick to the rebuild and the Celtics wouldn't have had to trade up for Winslow. The question now is whether Thomas was worth losing out on Winslow.
Owner Wyc Groisbeck says Celts "put everything out there" but were unable to move up.

The Celtics remain in the #16 slot. I was hoping Myles Turner would slip, but the Pacers just scooped him up. Not the best start for the Celtics.
Update: Simmons agrees
I take back everything I said about trying for the 8th playoff spot over getting a top-10 pick. Winslow is a stud. Miami does it again.
