Typically first there's the trade deadline season and then it's followed by the buyout season, but the New York Knicks and Amar'e Stoudemire decided to jumpstart things with an All-Star day buyout. The Mavs are the early frontrunners for Stoudemire and he'd be a good get for any playoff team. With this buyout and the news that the Knicks are shutting Carmelo Anthony down for the rest of the season, they are now in full tank mode. If you don't trust the legitimacy of the NBA lottery drawing, the Knicks and the Lakers would be your two heavy favorites to end up with this year's #1 pick.
