Celtics vs. Lakers: Isaiah in, Olynyk out; do we need more Shavlik?
The Celtics take on the Lakers in Los Angeles tonight in the 356th matchup between the two teams. Boston leads the series 155-126 in the regular season, 43-31 in the playoffs. The rivalry is not what it used to be:
Serious question for Celtics fans: Can you name two Lakers who will be on the floor tonight? And no, head coach Byron Scott doesn't count. L.A. fans are likely asking the same thing about this edition of the C's.
Newcomer Isaiah Thomas will play for the first time as a member of the Celtics:
The other two most recent editions to Boston's roster will be in uniform this evening as well:
The 6'10" Jerebko may see some immediate action considering Jared Sullinger is out for the year and Kelly Olynyk is not yet ready to return from a sprained ankle:
Another big man who could get a chance to backup Brandon Bass and Tyler Zeller--Shavlik Randolph. On Friday night in Sacramento Randolph received his first court time since returning to the Celtics last month. Randolph grabbed four rebounds in only six minutes, a similarly outstanding rebounding rate to what we saw from him in his previous stint with Boston.
