We hardly knew ya, Austin. |
According to Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald, the Celtics to LAC deal is very close and will net Boston yet another draft pick:
Celts will send Austin Rivers to Clippers, but have to wait to clear roster space for two expiring contracts.

Celtics will also get a second-round pick whenever the Austin Rivers deal gets done.

Taking a look at the Clippers' payroll, it seems the likeliest candidates to get moved include Epke Udoh, Hedo Turkoglu, Chris Douglas-Roberts, and Glen Davis. Each of these players is on the books for just about a million per year in 2014-2015 and two of the contracts would match Austin Rivers' cap hit.
Several reports indicate that LAC is seeking a deal with another organization as well (with Jordan Farmar and Reggie bullock being oft-mentioned). We'll provide updates as more information comes out.
