Celtics had three hour dinner together to help build chemistry

According to captain Rajon Rondo, the Celtics had dinner together in Houston upon landing last Friday. This dinner was an apparent team chemistry building session.

“I think this is where the camaraderie comes together and you become a close team,” Rondo said of road trips. “It wasn’t an official team dinner [Friday], but we went to eat and we had a good team-bonding dinner. It took about three hours. It was a great dinner.”

Obviously the dinner didn't have an immediate impact on the court seeing as the C's dropped a stinker against the Rockets losing 104-90 on the road.

Rondo later added that the roster is full of young guys that can be molded.

Also, it seems as though Rondo was the mastermind behind this team building exercise. Good to see him displaying his leadership off the court as well.

This is a good step in the right direction for both Rondo & the rest of the roster, especially if the front office feels they can build a championship team with a core of Rondo, Jared Sullinger, Kelly Olynyk, Avery Bradley & Marcus Smart.

This may also be a tactic by Rondo to try and get the team on his side so that he has leverage if he and the Celtics discuss any kind of extension. Or maybe he's trying to sabotage the young guys so as to ruin the future of this team once he leaves.

I doubt it, but I do like to imagine that he brought his Connect Four set with him to beat all the rookies at the same time.
