Mike Moser to join Boston Celtics' Summer League squad
Former Oregon forward Mike Moser, who was ranked #56 on Draft Express' prospect list, will be joining the Boston Celtics' Orlando Summer League squad. The 23 year old, who stands at 6'8" and weighs in at 204 lbs, went undrafted yesterday, but received a lot of interest from many teams afterwards who invited Moser to join their Summer League squads.
Moser opted to join the Celtics, citing that it's "just the best opportunity to play."
From Oregon Live:
"It was kind of crazy, to be honest," Moser said, adding he chose Boston because it's "just the best opportunity to play."
Moser is also getting interest from other teams to play in the NBA's other Summer League, in Las Vegas, from July 11-21, but no deals have been finalized. Moser leaves Monday for Orlando, which hosts its league from July 5-11.
"We'll get after it," said Moser, the Grant High School alumnus who also played at UCLA and UNLV in college. "I'll probably end up playing with a different team in Vegas. We're looking at teams and seeing where the best opportunity is."
Moser worked out for 15 teams prior to Thursday's NBA draft but the Celtics were not one of them.
In his senior season, Moser averaged 13.2 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game over 34 games. He also shot 37.8% from 3-point range. Click here for his full stats on Draft Express.
