Check out this Celtics box score from 29 years ago today
Known as "The Memorial Day Massacre," the Celtics defeated the Lakers 148-114 in Game 1 of the NBA Finals (LA did win the series 4-2 however). Here's the box score via basketball-reference.com:
When you shoot 61% from the floor and dish out 43 assists on 62 made field goals, I guess it's possible to score 148 points in regulation during an NBA Finals game. If the C's didn't have a bad free throw shooting day they would have put up 150+ no problem. And how about the perfect game pitched by 6th man Scott Wedman?
Also, 27 years ago yesterday was Johnny Most's call of "Now there's a steal by Bird, underneath to DJ, he lays it in!"
