Did the Celtics promise German PG Dennis Schroeder they'd draft him?

It seems like an odd thing to do, but that's what NBADraft.net is reporting:

Sources have indicated that the rumored promise to German PG Dennis Schroeder is with the Boston Celtics at the 16th pick.

 It's quite possible Schroeder may be gone by the time Boston picks, in fact NBADraft.net actually ranks him as the 11th best player in the draft.
