Should Jeff Green remain in the starting line-up?

Some guys are just better as starters. Jeff Green is one of them. Whereas players like Jason Terry and Jamal Crawford thrive off the bench, others need to start to bring the most out of them. McHale was able to handle a bench role. Cedric Maxwell wasn't. For that reason Max started and McHale came off the bench. And when McHale took over the starting spot permanently, Maxwell was shipped off for a player able to handle a reserve role in Bill Walton.

Jeff Green simply plays better as a starter. Is he undersized as a 4? Yes, but so is Brandon Bass. The Celtics have 16 games remaining this season. Most likely in the final 2 or 3, you'll see Doc sit Pierce and KG to prepare for the playoffs. It's time to get into playoff mode. The Celtics starting line-up should be Bradley, Lee, Pierce, Green, and KG. Take the next dozen games to mesh as a unit. I'm hoping the change is made tonight. Yes Bass would prefer to start, but so is life. He got the contract he wanted last Summer. Now is the time to do what the team needs. Leon Powe was perfectly content as a reserve and Bass needs to embrace the role as well. Having Jeff Green running on all cylinders is integral to the present and future of this team. Time to keep him in the starting line-up and give him a shot to shine.
