They bleed green, they won´t trade our Celtics heart

Year after year we hear the rumors, some years more active than others. Danny Ainge listens to offers and also explores new to his aging roster. And yet, the Celtics continue to prove their doubters wrong. Every spring the Celtics grow to become a contender and enter the playoffs scaring everyone.

This year it will be the same story. The Celtics face the injury of a key member of their team but will end up being a candidate to win it all.

And I can tell you something. This team deserves another chance to do so. And after that, another chance to look for another ring with the core of Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo and Kevin Garnett.

We know by now that the three of them bleed Celtic green. We know that they play with pinched nerves, torn ligaments and bodies that should be already resting on some beach far away from the NBA courts. These guys have given it all for the Celtics jersey, for us fans and for the tradition and pride of the Boston Garden.

Mark my words: they will continue to do so.

This is not a team that needs rebuilding, this is a team that needs help in some areas to become a more reliable contender in June. We don´t need to blow anything up. We are not that kind of team. We are much closer to become a machine of winning in June than to start looking at sites like nbadraft.net for the next year.

Let me get this straight: we have the right mix of vets and youngsters. We just need some help inside and some ball handler while our star is out. We have future Hall of Famers in Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, a star in Rajon Rondo, young guns like Avery Bradley, Jeff Green,Courtney Lee and Jared Sullinger, and a clutch shooter vet in Jason Terry. Why blow this up? Just because we have some injuries?

I say: No way. Not now.

There is still a lot of Celtics hot green blood in this Celtics squad. Many dreams, many baskets, and many wins are left in this current roster. No need to trade the core, no need to demolish the whole building now.

Yes, Eric Bledsoe and DeAndre Jordan are nice players, but we don´t want them here now. At least not at the price of losing the soul and identity of the Boston Celtics.

We want Kevin Garnett.

We want Paul Pierce.

We want Rajon Rondo.

We want our Boston Celtics.
