"Honey Nut Cheerios" stuff confiscated at Garden last night

The rumor spreading around after the Celtics defeated the Knicks back in New York was that Kevin Garnett told Carmelo his wife tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios. This provoked Melo to wait outside the team bus to confront Garnett, an act he was later suspended for.

That rumor was obviously hilarious and, true or not, it turned into a national story, and soon after, material items.

With the Knicks coming to the TD Garden last night, it was obvious that Boston fans would use this to taunt Melo.

Obvious enough that the Garden staff was prepared for it, and prevented it from happening.

NYPost:
According to a Celtics official, fans brandishing posters making reference to “Honey Nut Cheerios’’ were confiscated, as were a couple of Cheerios boxes. A security guard told The Post: “Most of them were taken away when they came in.’’

Kind of hilarious that people were getting boxes of cheerios confiscated by security. It would've been great if the stadium was filled with Honey Nut Cheerios shirts, but alas, it would've hurt Melo's feelings. We can't have that.

Melo actually had a security guard with him because of this whole thing. The Knicks GM was also recording conversations with Melo on the court, because of the "Honey Nut Cheerios" incident.

Just a wee bit of an overreaction.
