We're seriously getting these questions now? Ainge says Rivers job is secure

Has anyone even considered the fact that Doc Rivers could get fired this year? No? Ok, then why is Danny Ainge fielding questions on his job security?

CSNNE.com
"Doc (Rivers) has proven his worth as a coach," Danny Ainge, Boston's President of Basketball Operations, told CSNNE.com. "There's nobody I want more to coach my team, than Doc Rivers."

Phew. Well, glad that that was cleared up.

Now obviously these questions were asked in the context of the Avery Johnson firing earlier that day, but do we really have no other material that we have to resort to this?

Why would the Celtics fire Doc Rivers? Sure, the Celtics haven't had a great start to the season. That is not enough to get Rivers fired. Even if the Celtics only won 30 games I wouldn't want Rivers fired. I don't think it would even come up in discussion. This topic merits no conversation at all, except I just contradicted that by posting this.

Anyway, if a Celtics fan has even entertained the idea of firing Doc Rivers this year, please speak up below. I'm not sure that person exists though, or at least doesn't live among the sane population.
