Celtics have three of the top-15 players in Defensive Rating

For players averaging 15-or-more minutes per game and participating in 15-or-more games, Boston has three players in the top-15 in Defensive Rating. Terry Rozier is #3 in the ratings, while Aron Baynes comes in at #6 and Gordon Hayward at #14.


Most of Terry's numbers are down as compared to last season, possibly as a result of his reduced floor time. His points, rebounds, assists and shooting percentages have all suffered this season. But his defense has not.

Gordon's #14 rating tells us that even though his offensive game took some time to solidify, his defensive game has been there for a while. If his offense even comes close to what he did against the Minnesota Timberwolves, and his defense is maintained at this level, he is in for a fine season.
