Ante Zizic is skipping the EuroBasket tourney to focus on Celtics

According to ESPN Boston, 2016 Celtics 1st-round selection (23rd overall) Ante Zizic will be skipping out on the EuroBasket tourney this summer so he can focus on joining his NBA team this summer and next season:

Chris Forsberg spoke with Austin Ainge last month and the Celtics director of player personnel said that the plan was to sign the Croatian born Zizic as soon as he was eligible this summer:

"July 1 just has to roll over on the calendar, and we’ll sign him," Celtics director of player personnel Austin Ainge said a few months ago. "He wants to be here, and we want him here."

This seems to cement now that the Celtics and Zizic are moving in unison towards bringing the 6'11 center stateside for next season. I will be very excited to get a good look at him in the summer league which kicks off July 3rd for the Celtics in Salt Lake City Utah. The Celtics are going to have a very talented young squad and it's going to be very interesting to see how Zizic's game transfers against NBA caliber players.
