Want to play for the Maine Red Claws?

Ever have that dream where you somehow manage to end up playing your way onto an NBA squad after being discovered by a scout, player or coach?

Admit it, you totally have.

Well, Celtics fans, it might not be as far fetched as you think. The Maine Red Claws are holding open tryouts next Saturday, September 24th, at the Boston Celtics training facility in Waltham, Massachusetts--you won't even have to make the trip to Maine! The tryouts are open to the public, and while your chances of actually making the NBA development league squad are sure to be pretty small, the path to that aforementioned dream is not impossible. All attendees have a shot at making the Red Claws training camp roster in early November, which is the first step towards getting a contract with the Celtics D-League affiliate.

On the off chance you’re actually serious about trying out for the Red Claws, you’ll need to be over 18, and apply by this Thursday, September 22nd. You’ll also need to pay the registration fee of $200 for day-of applications, or $150 if you pre-register. So, unless money is no object, register as soon as you can to save that $50 dollars.
