Phil Pressey battles for a roster spot... again

The Oregonian/OregonLive -
At 24 years-old, Pressey has time to improve and grow in the Blazes system and the team isn't desperate for a finished product in their de facto third point guard behind Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. Pressey will have a chance to prove himself in October and in what will likely be (another) close competition with Frazier.

With only one day left to go before his contract was guaranteed by the Celtics, Pressey was cut. A few days later he was given a non-guaranteed contract with the Blazers, which is a great opportunity for Pressey to enter his third season in the NBA as part of a talented Blazers team who is looking to rebuild quickly after a franchise altering off season.

Pressey is in familiar territory despite being a thousands of miles away and in a brand new city. Pressey will again have to earn his spot and do it against Tim Frazier whom he beat out for a roster spot in Boston last year.

It’s hard not to root for Pressey no matter what jersey he is wearing. Good luck, Phil!
