Kelly Olynyk likely out tonight vs the Nets

Say it ain't so, Kelly O.

Yes that's the best I could come up with.

It looks like we will go a ninth straight game without hearing Tommy Heinsohn compare Rookie Kelly Olynk to Dirk Nowitzki. I was able to dig this up with some extensive sleuth work, scrolling all the way down a column about Michael Jorda-- Jordan Crawford by Jay King.

Injured rookie Kelly Olynyk could miss his ninth straight game Tuesday with a sprained ankle. Asked whether the big man will be available in Brooklyn, head coach Brad Stevens said: “I’ve heard no.”

Is the injury to Olynyk anything to worry about?

The lanky lovable big man saw a significant amount of playing time to begin the season as he's averaged 22.6 minutes a game. Unfortunately he tweaked that ankle back in a November 22nd loss to the Indiana Pacers. That L capped off a six game losing streak.

It's been a different story with Olynyk off the court though, as Kris Humphries has been forced into a bigger role, and the team has started winning. The team has won six of their last eight with the rookie nursing his ankle. So, if you want the team to keep winning, maybe it's best that Olynyk comes back in a reduced role. Then again, we're not competing for a championship here, are we? It might make the most sense to give Olynyk those big minutes back to develop him for a future playoff run.

Future or present? The whole situations so confusing I'm going to leave it up to you in the comments section to decide what's best.
