|My dream girl|
There has been a lot of doom and gloom in Celtics nation lately, so because I am one of the happiest people on earth I thought I'd brighten up the mood a little by talking about some less serious stuff.
Let's talk about relationships. Specifically, if you could be in a relationship with someone who didn't like the Celtics. If your like me, and from what I read on articles and comments you love the Celtics even more than me, a lot of your life is spent either watching or reading about the Celtics. It would make sense that your significant other should like them too, correct?
I've had three serious relationships in my life and all of them have liked the Celtics. Granted I had to brainwash my last girlfriend into liking them, but brainwashing is totally okay when it comes to Celtics fandom. It doesn't matter if they don't like the Celtics when you meet them, only that you can convert them to bleeding Green.
In saying all this, I could NOT date a girl that didn't like the Celtics. I guess this means I'll either have to move to Boston or join a Celtics dating site( I should start this), but if that is what it takes then so be it. There is nothing sexier than a girl that likes the Celtics. Give me a B looking girl that likes the Celtics over an A looking girl that hates sports any day of the week. As you get older you realize what is important. In order I look for:
1) Crazy factor: A Girl can't be TOO crazy
2) Personality- She needs to be able to chill and have a beer
3) Is she a Celtics fan: I'll consider Patriots fans that aren't Celtics fans but they should be both
4) Does she like 2pac, Phil Collins, Tom Petty Bob Seger, or sappy music in general( must have 1)
5) Does she like doing outdoorsy stuff(kayaking). I'm addicted to sunlight and if we're going to be spending time together she probably should too
6) Looks(especially face)
7) Dunkin Donuts Coffee( what kind of person doesn't like it?)
If I ever find a ginger who likes the Celtics, kayaking, 2pac, and Dunkin Donuts I'll marry her on the spot.
So there you go. That is my opinion. Maybe based on this criteria I am destined to be alone, but at least I'll have my Celtics.
I asked one of my fellow Celtics Life writers what his thoughts were on this topic. Here's what he said. You can follow Terry at @TPtheDB.
"Since I am from Long Beach, most of the girls I dated were Laker fans. The only thing is though is that most of them are bandwagon fans or only like the Lakers because they think Kobe is hot. Now when I meet the father of the girl I'm dating. That's different, they are die hards and go back and forth. Since I moved to San Francisco, I haven't found many Warrior fans and that's probably because they have been irrelevant. One day I hope to find a woman that's a Celtic fan, but I doubt it."
