Shai Gilgeous-Alexander repeats as NBA Most Valuable Player

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has officially been named the NBA Most Valuable Player repeating the honor he also won last season. Shai beat out fellow finalists Nikola Jokić and Victor Wembanyama.

The Oklahoma City Thunder superstar averaged 31.1 points per game and became the first guard in NBA history to average 30+ points while shooting 55% from the field. Shai's Thunder finsished the regular season with a league best 64 and 8 record.

Boston's Jaylen Brown who was in the running for MVP and a favorite by many Celtics fans a few months back still has a chance to make All-NBA First team, but those odds became more difficult when Commissioner Adam Silver reduced the restrictions on the 66 minimum galmes played rule.

The last Celtics player to win the league MVP was Larry Bird forty years ago when he captured his third in a row.
