Jaylen Brown poised to lead Celtics in "new era"
Jaylen Brown known for his "The energy is about to shift" quote spoke this week on the upcoming Celtics season and says it's a new era as everythibg has changed and shifted:
"It feels like a new era," Brown said. "Half the team is gone. I wish them the best. I appreciate them. They were great teammates, so it's kind of sad to see them go. It's a new era, everything has kind of changed and shifted."
While expectations are low for the Celtics this year, don't expect Brown to buy into those predictions. Can Jaylen Brown make the leap to a 1st Team All-NBA talent and compete for a league MVP award this season? It would likely take that fron Brown for the Celtics to survive all the talent loss that just took place.Jaylen Brown said it feels like a new era for the Celtics on his stream today:

While that's a big ask, the opportunity is there since with Tatum (likely) out for the season, Holiday plus Porzingis traded in salary dumps, and Horford leaning to signing with Golden State, expectations are extremely low for this season's Celtics team by the national media who votes on these awards.
If Brown can put up numbers that are in the ballpark of what last yr's MVP's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had AND the Celtics still make the playoffs without all the players mentioned above, he would be in the MVP mix. Many Celtics fans are saying it's unfair to Brown to expect him to lead the team to the playoffs with such a depleted roster, but great players thrive on pressure. And Brown has never lacked that confidence. So instead of fearing JB being judged poorly if the team doesn't succeed this year with him as the "man," maybe a challenge to show us what you got is just what Brown needs to fuel him to that next level this season.
