Warriors acquire former Celtics guard Dennis Schröder
The Golden State Warriors were eligible to trade recent free agent acquisition De'Anthony Melton (out for the season with a torn ACL) on December 15th and wasted no time by officially swapping him yesterday along with three future second round picks to the Brooklyn Nets for starting point guard Dennis Schröder. The former Celtics point guard was averaging 18.4 points and a career high 6.6 assists per game through twenty-three games this season.
Schröder is expected to back-up and play along side Steph Curry for Golden State. The Nets will now intensify efforts to move the $40 million expiring contract of Ben Simmons.
