Successful April on the way for the Celtics
April is going to be a massive month for the Celtics. The NBA play-offs begin and another step towards the first title since 2008 will be taken.
Before that dream can be fulfilled, the Celtics need to win their first Eastern Conference title since 2022 must be won. We already know after an excellent season so far that Boston will be the winners of the Atlantic Division for the second successive year. It’s the first time they’ve managed to achieve that feat since wins in 2011 and 2012.
Betting on basketball is hugely popular and particularly in recent years in Canada. Many Canadians visit https://twin.com/en-ca/bets/basketball/usa/1970324836974725-nba to check out the latest odds on NBA matches.
The Celtics have dominated the Atlantic Division this season. It’s certainly not been a nail biting term like last season when Boston won the title but only won three more games than the Philadelphia 76ers. Results against other sides in the division have been much more impressive this time around and home form has been ultra-impressive.
Perhaps head coach Joe Mazzulla learned some lessons from Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola after a recent visit to the soccer club.
With a place in the play-offs guaranteed, the hope is that the Celtics can make it to the NBA final. Doing so will wipe away the memories of that loss to Miami Heat in last season’s Eastern Conference final. Losing the first three matches of that series was always going to make life difficult for the Celtics. Even the heroics of Jayson Tatum as the Celtics pulled it back to 3-3 wasn’t enough as Miami won the deciding match.
This year sees Boston as the favorites to win the NBA title. They will face some tough opposition of course, especially from Cleveland Cavaliers and Milwaukee Bucks who are battling it out in the Central Division.
If meeting the Bucks in the play-offs, there’ll certainly be a desire to see the early season wins over them, not the 135-102 loss sustained on the road in January.
The final weeks of the regular season should be pretty successful for the Celtics. Six of the final eight matches are being played at the TD Garden. The only games on the road are at Charlotte and Milwaukee. A string of wins in April will definitely boost their confidence ahead of the vital play-off games in April and May.
Who might the Celtics play in the NBA final if getting that far? Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets and LA Clippers will all be hoping they win the Western Conference and make the NBA final.
Looking at the away record of each of those three sides, the Celtics have to be confident that they will be able to pile up wins when playing their rivals on their home court. A thrilling play-offs looks on the way and perhaps that NBA title might just be landed.
