Another coach fired, but at least this one's team had a lousy record
Today the talentless Washington Wizards fired head coach Wes Unseld Jr, the son of their former star player, coach, and executive. The Wizards at 7-36 have the second worst record in the NBA this season. Winchester, Massachusetts' own Brian Keefe will move from an assistant coach's spot to the head one, presumably for the remainder of the year.
Unseld Jr. will move up to the front office, but not in a Brad Stevens way where he will now call the shots. Definitely a major demotion or potentially even a way for Washington to not be paying a fired coach for nothing. Unseld Jr. was a highly touted assistant coach, but in two and half seasons in Washington the team failed to win.The Washington Wizards are promoting top assistant Brian Keefe to interim head coach for the rest of the season, sources tell ESPN. He will replace Wes Unseld Jr., who will move into a front office role. Wizards will do a full offseason search for a new head coach. pic.twitter.com/do1A6h64mK
