Celtics Smash San Antonio to Close Out 2023

The Boston Celtics obliterated the San Antonio Spurs 134-101 Sunday night in San Antonio.

This was a great way to cap off the calendar year, as Boston became the first team this season to reach 20 games over .500.

After taking a 12-point lead into the halftime break, Boston blew it open with a 40-23 3rd quarter to put the game on ice.
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown led the way for the C's, combining for 49 points on 63.3% shooting. JB had it cooking during the Celtics huge 3rd quarter run, scoring 16 of his 24 points in the period.

This was a great game for the starters as they stretched the lead enough to keep their minutes down in a blowout victory.

The bench added some great production, with solid performances all around the board, especially Sam Hauser, Payton Pritchard, and Luke Kornet. The 47 points scored by the bench was one of their top outings of the season as a unit.
Following a couple of nail-biting victories over teams toward the bottom of the standings, the Celtics made sure tonight was stress-free down the stretch.

The Celtics next game will be Tuesday night against Oklahoma City.

Happy New Year, Celtics fans. Here's to a great 2024!
