Kendrick Perkins says Celtics aren't thinking about defense

When the Boston Celtics last won an NBA title back in 2008 it was because of their defense. When the team turned things around last season under first year head coach Ime Udoka it was due to their elite defense. This year's Celtics team has flirted identity wise with being an elite offensive teams at times and defensive team at others.

In order to win 4 out of the next 6 games against the 76ers (let alone an NBA title), Boston will have to kick it up a notch. You can say well the team doesn't listen to Mazzulla as much as they did Udoka, but at the end of the day it's the players who are on the court. And by now they are all veterans.

It's up to Marcus Smart, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and company to up their effort on the defensive end, and once they do that, they can hold the rest of their teammates accountable.
