Joel Embiid wins 2022-23 NBA MVP award; Jayson Tatum comes in 4th
For a good portion of the season it looked like Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokić was on pace to win his third straight MVP award, which was something not accomplished in almost forty years when our very own Larry Bird won back-to-back-to-back. But the momentum started to shift to Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid in the final month of the regular season and he ended up winning the award by a substantial margin.
Jayson Tatum finished fourth which is the highest a Boston Celtics player has ended up since Kevin Garnett came in third fifteen years ago.
Jayson Tatum's 4th place finish in this year's MVP voting is the highest a Boston Celtics player has landed since Kevin Garnett came in 3rd during the team's 2007-08 championship season. https://t.co/JAmNcFlymV pic.twitter.com/AKAJI7xjNm
