C’s Flaunt Historic (?) Dominance in Rout of Nets

I’ve been following the NBA for well over 50 years, have a vague recollection of Havlicek’s historic heist; the junior-high version of me began riding the Green Line to the Gahden’s Second Balcony in the twilight of Mr. Russell’s playing days …

… but never in all that time can I recall seeing a similar display of offensive efficiency like the one the J-Team and Co. laid on Brooklyn during an eight-and-a-half-minute stretch of Q1 Wednesday evening, the opening foray of a genuine beat-down.

After a Derrick White miss on the game’s opening possession, Brooklyn’s defense would earn just one more “Stop” on Boston’s next SEVENTEEN trips down the floor.

A 41-point outburst over nine minutes of play (aided and abetted by one measly FTA, but four Offensive Rebounds).

During the game’s first 12 minutes, the Celtics missed 11 of their 29 FGA’s, but managed to corral FIVE offensive rebounds (Payton Pritchard again contributing one of them) while committing just one Turnover.
