The Boston Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers 142-138 Thursday night in what was an absolute roller coaster of a game. Boston led by as much as 16, but that big lead was short lived as this game was back and forth for the majority of the 2nd half. Boston was lead by Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, who combined for 61 points and 23 rebounds.
The bench also played a big role, as Malcolm Brogdon, Derrick White, and Sam Hauser all put in good work in their minutes. The offensive glass proved to be pivotal in this one, as the Celtics ended up collecting 20 offensive boards, including 2 on the game sealing possession that ended in a Tatum putback. The season series with Indiana now sits at 1-1, with both teams winning on the others home floor. The 3rd and final regular season meeting will take place on March 24th in Boston. With the win tonight, the Celtics now sit at 43-17 on the season, with a big game coming Saturday night in Philadelphia.
