Celtics blowout Hornets to kick off preseason 134 to 93
Jaylen Brown scored 24 points (in 24 minutes) to lead the way as the Celtics kicked off the 2022-23 preseason with a touncing of the Charlotte Hornets. Malcolm Brogdon had a great Celtics debut as well ending his 24 minutes of action with 11 points, 9 assists, and 5 rebounds.
The Celtics blew this thing open in the 2nd quarter and just coasted from there. Boston ended the game with a very impressive 41 assists.
Other quick thoughts: Personally I would rather have backup big minutes go to Mfiondu Kabengele than Blake Griffin. Hauser looked like he could be a potential rotation player as well. And JD Davison will get run in Maine this season, but he has an NBA future in my opinion.
"They want to play the right way," Joe Mazzulla says of our 41 assists this afternoon. "They had good intentions."— Boston Celtics (@celtics) October 2, 2022
We'll see the Celtics next on Wednesday when they host the Raptors.

Malcolm Brogdon believes playing alongside the Jays will open up his offensive game: "We have 2 of the best scorers in the world on our team. It's going to open me up. It opens Marcus up. I'm going to get easier shots than I have in the past and get more lanes to the basket."— Taylor Snow (@taylorcsnow) October 2, 2022

Mazzulla: "Oh yeah."
Amanda: "Anything you want to tell us about?"
