That Celtics team of course would go on to win the championship and is considered one of the greatest teams of all time.

For that season the Celtics added Bill Walton to come off the bench and be their 6th man. He'd win the 6th Man of the Year Award and complimented the Celtics starting 5 of Dennis Johnson, Danny Ainge, Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, and Robert Parish.

Forward Scott Wedman and guard Jerry Sichting rounded out an elite 8 man rotation. K.C. Jones was the ideal coach for this group and he'd win his 2nd NBA title as a head coach. Jones also won one as an assistant and many as a player.
