Boston Celtics to waive Jabari Parker

The Boston Celtics are planning to waive forward Jabari Parker, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Celtics maintain roster flexibility with an open roster spot ahead of roster guarantee date. Parker showed scoring ability over the past season in Boston.

I'll have to check if the Celtics save any money by waiving Parker before a certain date or not. Regardless, he wasn't getting any playing time in Ime Udoka's rotation and didn't appear to have a long term home here. I still think he's an NBA player. Just won't be on the Celtics.

This move also gives Celtics fans the opportunity to pine more for the team to bring back Isaiah Thomas or sign long time fan favorite DeMarcus Cousins with the open spot, so there's that.

Don't expect either by the way. Not clear right now if Boston will even fill the spot immediately.
